Safe.
Sober.
Accountable.
Our Work
Tried and True provides safe, structured, and long-term sober transitional housing for men. Starting with a single house in 2016, we have grown into a 42-bed operation with the ability to meet a wide range of needs across four locations, all located in DeSoto County, MS. Tried and True stands apart from other sober living homes through a structured and active program of daily accountability in a comfortable, home-like environment. We believe a person can begin to thrive through a well-rounded and engaging Recovery program. Our Phasing system, twelve step focus, Constructive Hour expectation, and other layers of accountability, when combined, offer a framework that fully supports those who are serious about making a change in their lives.
Our Approach
We are based on what is called the Social Model. This means that we support and encourage things such as honesty, integrity, and self-discipline by allowing a peer, someone who is also in Recovery, to lead by example with compassion and true understanding. We do not punish for “bad behavior.” Instead, we focus on positive reinforcement and modeling sober, adult behavior. When power dynamics are removed from the living environment, pressure is relieved in many ways. We believe that only then can a person freely move away from self-destructive habits and ideas and more towards a responsible, healthy mindset.
